Alaskan Trivia:
1942 Headline: Lone Girl Takes 4 Day Raft Trip
Seventeen year old Patsy Owens daughter of J. E. Owens, veteran Coleen River trapper and prospector whose cabin is 200 miles northeast of Fort Yukon decided to visit her sister at Dunbar on the Alaska Railroad, so she built a raft, took a box of dried prunes and embarked. Four days later she arrived at Fort Yukon with a few prunes left, none the worse for the trip.
